This technique is used
by many of the large media companies who sort and store
large amounts of ever evolving information on a daily
basis. The system has been modified to handle the data
collected by LPS perfusionists. The government's guidelines
on data protection have been stringently adhered to. For
example, the patients name, hospital number, etc. are
not recorded for the company database. The information
used to link a patient to the LPS database is supplied
by the company to the hospital records, rather than vice
